| From the perspective of a spectator ... |
we arrive at the California Speedway. |
From the start of the event, the Lemon
/ Konno crew |
are hard at work, with one purpose and
one goal. |
The mantra here is hard work, |
| consistency, and nasty persistence |
because success is where opportunity |
meets preparation! |
Countless hours of preparation ... |
comes to fruition and completed in seconds |
| Then its back to the trailer to prep
for the next run. |
This was my first time watching Rian
Konno |
make a run. It was quite thrilling and
nothing |
c an really describe the actual feeling |
of the rumbling engine while sitting
in the stands |
| You also get this overwhelming semse |
of power and that this rumbling felt |
in the stands from the funny car |
is invigorating! |
So one thing I noticed is that Rian Konno
is |
| non-stop. Hejust keeps working and working. |
If anyone was on a mission, |
you know Rian Konno is on one. |
As the saying goes, if you can't be part
of something |
successful, then its up to you to become
a success. |
| So this is the reason why Rian Konno |
decided to take charge of destiny and
made the |
decision and commitment to drive. |
Poochies! Poochies!
Dog & Cat grooming! |
One of Rian Konno's devoted local fans! |
| Rian Konno and Tom Lemon are currently |
also known as the Pineapple and Lemon |
are looking for a potential partnership
with the |
the "right" sponsor who uphold
the same |
philosophy of hard honest work |
| and a passion for what they believe in. |
Now moving onto a quick lesson |
as instructed by an avid NHRA fan |
A "how to"
on preparing your parachute |
Carefully extend your parachute as it
will |
| serve to slow the car down and save lives. |
Then give a few nice compliments such
as |
"thanks for streching yourself thin
out there" |
And place the parachute in its home. |
Wow, someone has a small waist! |
| & finally, your parachute lesson
is complete. |
Its about an hour before the second run |
and there is still more to be done |
as Rian Konno has mentioned |
hard work is always a pleasure |
| when your efforts are directly reciprocated |
to a project and passion you can be apart
of. |
Rian Konno speaks very highly of owner, |
mentor, and friend Tom Lemon who is a
veteran of this industry and stays true
to the |
| sport for the love of racing. |
Rian Konno, too, has this love of racing |
as he has made many sacrifices to do |
what he loves best ... to drive. |
That ends our day at Fontana. |
| We will be back soon! |
